The Association of Finnish Accounting Firms (TAL) is an industry association of authorised accounting firms and consulting companies operating in financial administration, the purpose of which is to develop the industry together with its member firms.

The Association of Finnish Accounting Firms offers tailored services to companies in the field, such as training, news of the industry and research. The Association publishes Tilisanomat (“Accounting News”), the leading professional magazine in the industry, administers the KLT accounting examination and lobbies for the industry in various projects.

The Association of Finnish Accounting Firms includes approximately 800 authorised member businesses and over 2,700 KLT experts.

The authorisation of an accounting firm, and the KLT accounting examination as a prerequisite for authorisation, are strong sales arguments for customers and stakeholder groups. The guidelines for following good practice, standards and tools and the regular inspections monitoring their use, created by the Association for the industry, increase the reliability and credibility of the industry.

The member companies of the Association manage the financial administration of almost 141,000 Finnish companies and entities, and the member companies calculate 301,000 pay envelopes every month. The members of the Association provide financial management services, taxation, payroll administration, financing and corporate acquisition consulting services to SMEs, in particular.

The Association provides its members all possible support so that the accounting firm industry, utilisation of financial administration and personnel of accounting firms may develop and that the customers of accounting firms receive expert and reliable service. At the same time, membership means honest and rewarding cooperation by professionals in the industry who have a common ethical value base.

The Institute for Accountancy also operates in connection with the Association.
